On Saturday 9th September 2023, The Sidemen hosted their fifth charity football match and first Bright Side event at the Olympic Stadium in London. The Sidemen vs YouTube Allstars lineup featured all seven members of the Sidemen plus some of the most familiar faces in the world of streaming and content creation including Mr Beast, KaiCenat, IShowSpeed, xQc and many, many more. The stadium’s full 62,000 capacity was sold out within 90 minutes and there were almost 20 million online views on the day.
This year’s match gave fans the opportunity to fundraise in their local communities and help raise money for the chosen charities.
The community fundraisers raised a combined total of £22,000 which was a huge contribution towards the total, with 10 inspiring winners receiving a VIP experience on the day of the match.
In addition to this, Bright Side gifted 10 hospitality boxes for the charities to enjoy with staff and young people attending for a special treat day. This was one young persons feedback from the day:
"I’m constantly in and out of hospital so having a day where I could forget about operations and appointments and just have an amazing time meant the world to me. The goodie bags were amazing, we had our own suite which made me feel VIP and all the YouTubers were really friendly and the match and Aitch were brilliant.”
The 2023 charity match finished 8 - 5 to Sidemen FC and raised £2.4 million which will support the amazing work of Teenage Cancer Trust, Campaign Against Living Miserably, Rays of Sunshine and M7E.
